The plan of United States (US) President Donald Trump to implement import tariffs has sparked concerns among investors. Trump’s policy has prompted a massive sell-off in the stock market that caused the S&P index to lose US$ 4 trillion or around Rp65,200 trillion (exchange rate of Rp16,300) last month.
Trump’s move is considered to increase the risk of uncertainty for business people, consumers, and investors. Trump is known to have imposed high tariffs on a number of countries such as Canada, Mexico, and China.
