At least, there are two types of games: finite and infinite. Finite game is described with a clear rule and limitation. You will know well the do’s and don’ts of the game. Also, in the final, there is a winner and loser. For instance, when you play a sport, let’s say joining football competition, there is a winner club who get a trophy. So, the purpose of playing this kind of game is to win the match in the current competition.
The second is infinite game that are abundance in our life. It is a game that is no clear rule, no detail do’s and don’ts, no actual winner and loser. Because the purpose of the game is not to win a competition, yet to stay in the competition as long as possible. So, there is no clear winner and loser in this type of game. As long you are still stay relevant in the competition, you are able to categorized as a “winner”, on the other hand, the losers are easy to spotted, anyone who are out of competition.
For example, there are no actual winners in technology competition. In the mobile phone corps competition, Apple does not kill Sony Ericsson. The actual truth is Sony Ericsson kills himself by not staying relevant in the mobile phone productions, because inadaptability to keep playing the game. Not only on profitable business, infinite game also applied on many areas of life; health, education, marriage, etc. In the marriage, there is no real champion of marriage. As long you are comfortable and peaceful and not divorced with your partner, you are still on the right track.
